Horse Racing Ireland today launched the Summer Racing Season 2008 by announcing TV3's glamorous Xpose presenter Karen Koster as this year's HRI Fashion Ambassador. Fashionista Karen is regular face at Ladies Days throughout the country and always looks uber-stylish on the turf!
The stars of flat racing in Ireland will gather with familiar faces from the world of fashion at The Ice Bar in the Four Seasons Hotel to catch a sneak preview of the Summer Racing Programme and forthcoming Ladies Day events. Ladies Day at the races has never been as popular and Horse Racing Ireland along with the Dundrum Town Centre and up-and-coming milliners from the Grafton Academy will present this season's most fashionable Ladies Day wear. DJ Poppy Lloyd will be on the decks playing tracks that will get the crowd in the mood for summer!
Speaking at today's launch, Karen Koster said she was honoured and excited to be this year's HRI Fashion Ambassador "As a reporter, I've covered the best dressed lady competitions at various race days throughout the country, and I've been impressed by the style. I always find the experience really inspirational as its gives me ideas on what to wear to the next race meeting, so I am absolutely delighted to be this year's HRI Fashion Ambassador. Following in the footsteps of Caroline and Kathryn, I've some very high heels to fill, but I'm looking forward to a summer of style, socialising and of course plenty of betting!"
Tamso Doyle of HRI is looking forward for this year's Summer Season to begin, saying there is something for everyone at the races, "This year's Summer Racing Season is one to look forward to with some of the biggest races this year happening throughout the summer including the Classics at the Curragh with the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby the highlight of the summer season and some wonderful festivals to look forward too, including Killarney, Bellewstown and Galway and it continues right through to Listowel in September. It amazes me how the glamour continues to soar every year with Irish ladies around the country really making the effort to look stylish and enjoy a day at the races."
