Bellewstown Race Committees Gavin Duffy welcomes old friends and new to the launch including supporters from Horse Racing Ireland, Tote and the Association of Irish Racecourses. Gavin acknowledged the support of the Sponsors, the President John Purfield, Chairman Jim Corcoran, the Race Committee, Secretary/Manager Kevin Coleman and all those who work hard to keep Bellewstown as Irelands most charming and friendly racecourse.
Last night also saw the launch of the brand new look Bellewstown Races website www.bellewstownraces.ie. With over 76,000 visitors in 2006, the Committee knew that the website was in heavy demand and the new look site is rich in photos of action at Bellewstown and has even more information available in a user friendly manner.
A barricade was placed on all exit doors until such time as Colm Murray parted with his top tips for Cheltenham. Given the fact the races are still three weeks away, he was decidedly more measured that previous years but that didn't stop punters scribbling away furiously, taking note of everything he said. Guests clutched his top tips as they departed the launch, quietly nodding and assured that their scraps of paper contained at least some winners.
Dates for the 2007 Festival are 5th, 6th and 7th July and 29th and 30th August 2007 and as ever all race meetings are evening meetings. Can it be that its only 5 months to the first day of racing at Bellewstown 2007? See you "on the Hill"!
